I honestly feel like the most unlucky person in the world right now. 60 days of 100+ heat, standing in 110+ all day, just to see MuteMath. Perfect spot right up front…. and then a freak rainstorm blows in and demolishes the entire thing minutes after MuteMath had finished setting up.
As they were setting up I asked Darren if they were going to play any new songs, he said they were going to play 8. 8! They all looked nervous too — I mean, a new guitarist, 8 new songs never played before, festival gig, looming weather after a scorching day….
I was going to take good pictures of the new guitar player as they were playing so I didn’t bother snapping good ones because I thought I’d have all the time in the world. I was even going to at least record the sound of a couple new songs on my iPhone for you guys to listen to.
