…who came to our house today was telling me how he was convinced that Tulsa was being punished by God for decisions the city has made.
Maybe…. the heat could mean a lot of things. Maybe it’s God ‘helping’ some, or ‘teaching’ others, or ‘changing’ the city for His glory. Also, Tulsa’s not the only place it’s hot, dude. Are you saying it’s an Oklahoma thing?
I also told him about my NPR job. He said he tries to listen but “when I can’t take anymore I have to turn it off”. I’ve had so many people tell me that. I’m just surprised. Are they listening to the same station that I am? I can’t think of very many things that I find offensive about NPR, in fact, I argue that it’s the most unoffensive, balanced major news source out there besides AP. I’ve heard NPR do the most balanced, tasteful, unbiased stories. Is it the way they talk? Is that what people are talking about? If it is, I understand. However, I really don’t see what is so ‘liberal’ about it.
They cover stuff no one else does. E.g: famine in Somalia, in depth stories & commentaries on wall street companies, black rights, and a they host a lot of people who even have an obvious conservative slant.
No media is unbiased. Ever. But I just don’t see why people get all riled up about NPR and not about Fox or MSNBC.
