Spent the day in the studio with my sister and father recording an original song, “Soldier”. Here’s the demo cut.
.
(Careful, it may be a tear-jerker)
.
Lyrics:
She looked up at him as he stood there in the doorway
And she saw him grin, and he blew a little kiss
then the car pulled up outside, she heard gravel under tires
and her brother in his uniform was gone
.
He wrote letters home, from the desert and the mountains
And he spoke of love for his brothers there in arms
and she hung on every word and she held them in her heart
as she prayed for her soldier to come home
.
This is for the mothers who are crying deep inside
and this is for the fathers who are silent in their pride
and this is for the little sister praying
Bring my brother home
.
It was spring outside, daddy had the windows open
Sunday afternoon not a single word was spoken
then a car pulled up outside, they heard gravel under tires
and a man in uniform was at the door
.
This is for the mothers who are crying deep inside
and this is for the fathers who are silent in their pride
and this is for the little sister praying
.
This is for the mothers who are crying deep inside
and this is for the fathers who are silent in their pride
and this is for the little sister praying
.
She looked up at him as he stood there in the doorway
and he saw her grin, so he blew a little kiss.
“I don’t understand not littering in the city- ‘Oh no! You just threw trash on our nice clean paved road!”
So far, all I can tell is that there’s a bunch of people who are angry that they’re not rich. I’m not sure what they actually want….
Catchphrases of the protests:
“We are the 99 percent.”
“tax the rich/wall street”
“limit salaries of wall street”
“the rich are destroying our way of life”
“our schools, hospitals are suffering at the hands of the rich”

There are some problems with Wall Street, but it’s more a problem with the economy in general and how we do things.
A lot of these people need lessons in economics.
Now, on the livestream (http://www.livestream.com/globalrevolution), they’re chanting “shut the country down, shut the country down!”
This is Darren King of Mutemath.
He plays EVERY show like it’s the last show he will ever play.
I want to be like him!
Mutemath is playing in small clubs this fall. Lead singer Paul Meany does handstands on his organ during the shows. Just play with a little orientation of a picture of him aaaaand wallah! Paul is awkwardly carrying an impossibly heavy instrument.
I’m a good salesman. I could sell a ketchup Popsicle to a lady in white gloves.
I don’t drink water. I’m a human experiment.
Thick white girls are like thick black girls except without the snappy fingers and the attitude.
Oj is the secret to a healthy life. That and good air.
